STEAM WAX ELIMINATOR
(DEWAXER)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SET UP AND PROPER USE
After unpacking the Dewaxer, be certain to look inside of the unit and remove all packing material. Be sure that the inside of the unit is clean.
Place the Dewaxer on the workbench. Be sure the drain valve, located on the front of the cabinet is closed. Fill the lower chamber with water. Be sure the water is at least one (1) inch above the heating elements and approximately on (1) inch below the grates.
Plug the unit into a properly grounded outlet and correct voltage. The on/off switch is also a one-hour timer. The switch may be turned off at any point
during its cycle, without any damage to the timer or the heating element.
Place the flask in the cabinet with the hole down position. Close the Dewaxer door and turn the timer on the full hour cycle. The length of time required for eliminating the wax from the flask may vary on the size of the flask and the amount of wax in the flask. As a general rule, a small flask may require a minimum of one hour while a large flask may take two hours. Or two cycles. Note that there will always remain a minimal amount of wax
That is attached to the surface of the cavity. This will only come out during the burnout procedure.
After wax elimination, set the flask aside for approximately one and a half to two hours before burnout. This is a very important step as the investment has absorbed much moisture and must dissipate or evaporate before burnout. Two much moisture will cause the investment to crack from the steam pressure created in the flask during burnout.
After each use and when the unit is cool, lift the grate and skim the thin layer of wax on the surface of the water. After several uses the water will become dirty and must be changed. Drain the water and clean the reservoir. The tank may be cleaned with a strong vinegar and water solution. If there are calcium deposits on the heating elements, allow the strong solution to sit in the tank over night. Next day, drain, rinse and refill with clean water. |
